Sunscape Coco Punta Cana

The hotel with 4 stars seems to high to be true. It could be a good 2 star hotel. It has good potential, but the food, the service (mainly restaurant staff with some exceptions) need an attitude improvement. Pool cleanliness and people following rules seem like a thing of the past in the hotel. I gave 3 stars because the entertainment team goes beyond possible to make your stay comfortable and fun. Shout out to Nicki Minaj and Jr Style for their attitude and help to mitigate some discomforts. Rosario in the pool lounge bar has a great attitude and service. Our room was great and clean at all times.

Without exaggeration I have stayed at around 200 hotels worldwide and I can honestly say I had the worst experience at this hotel out of the 200. Since the moment I checked in the nightmare started. I’ve been a globalist elite(highest elite) at world of Hyatt which allows me to have benefits such as room upgrade, early check in and 4pm check out. The night before my check in I specifically called the hotel to request for a slightly earlier check in and also a possible room upgrade. I arrived at 1pm today and while check in the receptionist denied all my request. And told me check in is 3pm and my check out time will be 12pm like everyone else also I won’t even be able to have a room upgrade to a better view. I was quite shocked specially at her attitude was definitely not the friendliest. I asked her if she is familiar with world of Hyatt member status her response was “if you want to complain come back at 3pm and complain to my supervisor” I did the check in procedures and make payment in cash and the receptionist never offered to give me back change (not much like 3-4usd) but its just still not right specially for a Hyatt hotel So nothing much we could do we waited for about an hour and I went back to the lobby to ask if they can give me wifi password and luckily there was a manager grade staff her name is Isabel if I remember correctly and I asked her if word of Hyatt globalist status is not recognised in this resort and she apologised and said some of the staffs are not aware about world of Hyatt regulations which is quite shocking for me. Isabel was very kind and brought me to another area called sun club which is specially for Hyatt members to check in. The service there was definitely way better and I thought finally I can check in(by that time it was 2pm) the receptionist there told me the room they arranged is still not ready will need another 40 mins or so. I waited and waited. by the time I got to my room it was already almost 4.30pm. I saw everyone else who was waiting to check in one by one got their rooms I was the last person who was still waiting(normal check in for guests who are not globalist is 3pm) The reason I came to punta Cana was like most people was for the sun and beach and I’m only in PC for 3 nights and I only booked one night at this resort as I booked another Hyatt resort dreams after. By the time i got to my room there was already not sunny. I literally wasted my first whole day waiting. They did give me a free room upgrade to the pool access room but really I would much rather not have waited 3 hours and at least had the time to use the pool and enjoyed the sun After I got to the room I made 2 requests. For them to bring the luggages and also asked for slippers and toothbrush. Without exaggeration we waited 1.5 hours , called 3 times to the reception to remind them and still it didn’t come. For some very strange reason when someone finally rang the doorbell some staff brought us a plastic trash bag which we never asked for and did not bring any of what we asked. We gave up went to the resort’s private beach thinking to at least have a quick swim. When we asked for towels at the beach the response was “ we don’t have anymore clean towels “ I was absolutely speechless. It’s almost as if the hotel was pranking me. It really fails in every aspect in terms of service. This is not only the worst service Hyatt I’ve ever stayed at their service is worst than a hostel I’ve been travelling in Latin America for 11 months and Dominican Republic is my 14th country in this continent. Punta Cana was one of the places I was most excited about visiting and sunscape managed to completely ruined my first day to the max. Worst stay of my life in every aspect To say this is a hotel that’s not up to standard is an understatement And with the restaurant experience. We waited over 20 mins until the waiter came took our order at the blue water grill and it took literally an hour for the food to arrive and still the steak was cold when it came. This is without a doubt the worst stay of my life

Upgraded to swim out adults only room (bldg 1) and it was well worth it. The room was spacious and comfortable. Pool access was great and easy walk to beach. Bed was comfy, good water pressure in shower, two vanities, robes, and lots of hangers. The restaurants were just okay. Nothing to rave about and food seemed to sit out for hours at buffet. Omelette station was great in the morning. Would we come back? Perhaps but not in any rush.

Currently here now me and my son arrived yesterday…it’s just awful. I reported dead flying ants and the fan looking like it was flying off the wall. Well tonight I was in bed after our evening meal and felt something on me to be covered in flying ants. I understand they can’t help insects but I already reported it yesterday and they haven’t been cleaned. Reception never answer and the women on there look at you like a piece of rubbish. The resort is dirty. The bath has been painted it’s just dyer. They won’t change our room even though the resort isnt at capacity. Just don’t come here.! Don’t even start me on the cleanliness of the pizza shop… it’s just horrible. I’m currently trying to find another hotel

Best buffet .. Love the people specially zoila and the all the people in koleidsocope.. we will surely comeback we love all the food we love carlo gulliermo … chocolate the dancer .. love italian food tilki tako are the best toerra love it too the pool was nice love everything about sunscape coco
