Start with the good: Restaurant on the deck is pretty good but it's extra charge. Room was somewhat clean. Chop Stick a la carte is decent (soup is delicious) The bad: The buffet Restaurants make food in Cuba look good. It was absolutely atrocious. Nothing was good. They put too many various dog foods out instead of concentrating on a few qualitie items. My spouse had a moving maggot on her salad. The chef came to see us and said he would take care of us... We never saw him again and he didn't do anything for us. Bird poop on some items including chairs you sit on. The burger on the beach grill made me gag (it smelt like rotten meat and cow manure. RATS are running around the exterior of the buffet. The baby high chairs have grease and caked on food. The shrimps at the buffet smelt like ammonia (rotten) I could go on and on... I got a stomach bug and had diarrhea for the last 5 days. A kid we know had to go to the hospital because also caught a stomach bug. Really really really not sanitary. We knew there were going to be rocks at the beach but it's just dangerous to get into the water. People had feet injuries cut hands and so on. The hotel next door has cleared beach. (Better off going to swim there) Smoking. OMG. I felt like back in the 80s 90s. People smoke everywhere and anywhere. They don't care if you have a baby next to them. Cigarettes butts are all over the sand. The beach is an ashtray. Broken glass on the walkway to the beach was left there the entire time I was there. Entertainment at night is nice. But on the beach all day long pumping loud music is really not relaxing. Anyways you get the point. I would never ever go back there with family or friends. BTW I had blood in my stool and had to take antibiotics when I came back home. My wife and my kid both caught the same bug also.

This has been one of the best get-aways my wife and I have ever done. The weather, the food, the drinks, the entertainment, and the accommodations were all incredible. But, we believe businesses are built around employees….. we met some remarkably helpful, kind, and fun employees that we now embrace as friends and are a pillar of what will ensure that we return. Thank you Luis Avila at Windows….we miss you already, you were extremely attentive and dedicated to ensure we had a great time! I also want to give sincere thank yous! to Evelyn at the front desk (you had us laughing from the start), Maria at the pool swim up bar and Carlos at the beach bar, your smiles and professionalism are top notch, can’t wait to see you again, Esteban at Windows, breakfast is not the same without you-you always made sure we had everything. BL- thank you to all the staff for a wonderful week. Don’t ignore the other reviews….yep, the beach is a little rocky, go slow and watch how others enter the water and you’ll be fine, it also helps if you understand a little Spanish or are at least willing to try….not a lot of US folks here….but the staff will help you get there. Again, thank you Team Sunscape, can’t wait to see you again.

There now. Paid extra for Sun club. People who are not Sun club regularity come to Sun club bars for upgraded bars and are now at exclusive pools. No one says anything. Why did we pay extra, could have gotten for free! Fellow guests are rude, pushing their way to buffet and bars. People, they are not going to run out of food or booze. Staff pass me over at buffet, cut me off when walking. So hard to hold my temper. I’m supposed to be relaxed and on vacation.

Very disappointing! We do all inclusive all the time and I must say this is the worst. Resort is in desperate need of repair. The food is horrible. Nothing but flies all over the food. Mold growing in the shower. Hot water if your lucky. Great weather though and good excursions. We will stick with Cancun. Been to Dominican 3 times and won't be back

This resort has some major sanitation concerns with their drink preparation. You should not use non-potable tap water to soak drink utensils in. To make matters worse the bucket holding the utensils in was not dumped and renewed as was observed by the cloudy characteristics of the soaking water. This is a potential source for bacterial growth and cross contamination. My wife and myself were sick for the majority of our stay which I suspect is from the drink preparation. It was a shame because the grounds of the resort were nice and the beach was beautiful. The staff at the resort were also great especially the sunclub concierge. I hope that the drink preparation protocols are changed so that other patrons do not become ill like we did.
