Where to start, I will start with the positives first off. We arrived here and were greeted by a staff member who gave us a welcome cocktail which was nice and refreshing after the 1.5 hour drive to get to here from Punta Cana airport. The drive itself was fine and thankfully didn’t feel too long. We then checked in with no issues whatsoever, given our wristbands which also act as your room key too. Then given some information about the hotel and restaurant opening times etc. We then had our bags loaded onto a trolley cart with some other bags and shown to our room. We had booked the seaview room with private plunge pool. We were fairly close to the beach/sea with a good view, not entirely seaview but close enough. Plunge pool wasn’t too full but thought this may be filled at some point. We walked down to the beach and was going to see the sea when security told us the beach was closed at night and we had to go back. We did not eat dinner on our arrival day as we were not hungry as had eaten on the plane, our bed was so comfy and room a very good size too. Not much in the room, very basic décor but ok. I did like the idea of the glass bottle you can fill up with fresh drinking water just down the hall too. We had a working safe and room was very clean. Good size TV and worked well (can log into Netflix etc). First morning was beautiful, we were up early and went to breakfast as it opened up at 7:30am (very disappointing but will explain further in the negative section below). After breakfast we went for a walk down the beach all the way to the right hand side until we could walk no further. The beach was clean and we felt safe, many other walkers/runners around too. The beach was private and partially cordoned off with security and people I would describe wearing army clothes carrying AK47’s. There was plenty to do at this hotel with many water sports activities and trips you could book. We booked the snorkelling excursion and it was very good, apart from there must have been a small storm beforehand as the sea was all churned up and we did not see much. We then moved on to a sand bar in the middle of the sea, we could stand up and it was much clearer but no fish. We did see some beautiful large orange star fish though! We actually got engaged on our second night here as this was supposed to be an amazing adventure and holiday together which didn’t end too well. There is a small shop on site but be careful as they sell out of date items such as fizzy drinks and crisps (not sure how you can do that!). Day 3 and my partner was ill, I had to go down for food etc and sit on my own whilst he was in bed for 2 days. We booked the A La Carte for when my partner was feeling better as we were told this would be better than the buffet, we didn’t have an issue booking but the food was the same as the buffet just mixed up a bit. I would recommend the coffees from the bar outside of the buffet as these were made well and much nicer than the filtered coffee. Try the fresh pasta at lunch / dinner so it is fresh and cooked right in front of you. We had booked the romantic dinner on the beach but after my partner getting ill we cancelled, it took nearly 3 weeks to get our money back!   Now for the negatives that made us change hotel half way through our 2 week stay. THE FOOD. The buffet food was cold, not even luke warm it was stone cold. We went for our first breakfast at 7:30am when the buffet first opens, the food looked good so we plated up, started to eat and everything was stone cold. This clearly made my partner poorly over the next couple of days as everything else we had eaten the same and I did not get sick. We complained to customer service desk and I also contacted our travel company so this was logged. I was then asked to meet with an assistant manager who took my complaints and asked to meet with the chef too. The food served in a buffet should be 60c so it is kept hot and can beat any bacteria. When I asked for a food probe to check I was asked why I wanted this and that the chef’s walk around and check all the time. We did not see that happen until after we had this meeting. I was then told they had a microwave in the corner if I want to heat my food up. WHAT?? I would expect this from a 1 or 2 star hotel not a 4 star hotel especially a Wyndham. They had hot plates for the food which were only turned on after this meeting, the heat lamps above the food are empty and they told me they were still waiting on these, how can they rush open a hotel and serve cold food? After this I begged with our travel company to sort something out as we could not stay here for another week. We complained more than once to Marco who we were told was the night manager, he did nothing and did not seem interested. I asked if he read the TripAdvisor reviews of the food, he said he did, so they must be proud to serve cold food that should be hot! Please think about staying here and book somewhere else, it is a shame as it had potential but we were moved to the Marriott Miches Beach around the corner and from start to finish had 5* treatment for the same price!!!!!!!!! Stay away from the wine in the buffet, wine is much better from the bar. Many times we had eaten some food, gone up to get pudding and our table was packed away and and our drinks taken away too. We had only been up getting dessert which takes maybe 2 minutes. Perhaps they should wait a little longer to ensure people are not back up at the buffet. We were told the A La Carte would be much better than the buffet but it was not, it was recycled buffet food and guess what, came out cold. I cannot get over the shrimp nachos which were the same packaged nachos from the pool bar with maybe 7 pieces of cold small shrimp. One last negative, the Viva Members continuously harass you and follow you around until you forcefully say no thank you! This can become quite tiresome as you walk around the long way to try avoid them. Such a shame. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

    Wyjątkowy

We have been for a week and we could have easily stayed longer!! This resort has been opened only for 3 months. There is an amazing pond. The beach is very nice and private because there are literaly no other resorts. No need to panik for the long chairs, there are plainty and you will always find some free and this is great as well. You can easily take a 2 hours walk on this virgin beach. Water visibility is not ideal for snorkeling but its warm. Bedrooms are new so everything is great. Staff is great. Food is great. Restaurants A La Carte, usually i dont even bother to go but in this resort food is great. The octopus was cooked perfectly at the seafood restaurant. If you go to the asian restaurant and would like to see the chef show at the steering plate cooking you need to reserve and specify it. We didn't know but we still had a great time. Buffet, food is also good. Sushi, pasta and many others choices. Well, in this resort we even have wood pizza oven. One in the buffet and an Italian chef at the snack bar. He's very friendly and really fun to talk with. For lunch he's in charge of the pasta station and they are outstanding. At night, starting from 11 pm he's pizzas are real authenticItalian pizza. It was my favorite way to end the day. You might want to ask him when are his days off because you will notice his absence because it just doesn't taste the same when he isn't there!!! It's about 1 hour 10 minutes ride from the airport. There are many activities and sports available and the animators are great.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Stay at Viva Wyndham Miches Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with several aspects of my recent stay at Viva Wyndham Miches. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations, particularly due to the poor service from the staff. Many employees were rude and uncooperative, showing a clear lack of courtesy and willingness to assist guests. Despite heavy rain, pool towels were not replaced, the mini bar was not restocked even after repeated requests, and most of the bars were often left unattended. On one specific occasion, after a heavy rain left all the towels completely soaked, I had to practically beg for dry towels, even after clearly explaining the situation. The lack of empathy and responsiveness from the staff was truly disappointing. Another serious issue was the poor cleanliness of the rooms. There were many insects, including cockroaches, which is unacceptable. Additionally, there was a shortage of bath towels, further compromising the comfort of our stay. It was also very frustrating to see guests reserving pool loungers with towels, despite clear rules stating that this was not allowed — and yet no one from the staff intervened or enforced the policy. The food offered was repetitive and lacked variety, and there was little to no shade available on the beach, making it difficult to enjoy the area during peak sun hours. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as it reflects a disappointing experience that did not meet the standards expected of a resort of this category. Sincerely, Carolina Catarina
