This was another great stay at this hotel. (4th visit). On arrival around 1pm, my room was ready, pool view and set up with the king bed configuration. The reception guy recognised me, as did many other staff throughout the stay (professional touch). As always, staff were helpful, polite and professional. The outdoor pool area was a suntrap and the pool freezing but still inviting! The spa is a lovely feature and often I had this to myself by booking a carefully chosen time. The only downside was when 2 ladies were checked in next to me and had continually loud conversations that never stopped! Including at 1am in the morning.(I assume they didn't realise) I was leaving that morning so let it go at the time. However. I've had "neighbours" every time I've stayed and this time the sound travelled and impacted on my stay as I choose here because guests are generally of the quieter type. I wonder if there is a way of improving the soundproofing between rooms. I know lots about the 2 people I've never met! I'd still return tomorrow though and I think they should have another hotel the other side of the island!

Hotel Petit Sagitario is a pristine, minimalist hotel with a super spa whose facilities are available for 1 hour daily (must be pre-booked) to hotel guests. I was lucky to be allocated a first floor room, overlooking the pool, with a balcony that was bathed in sunshine (when it shone!) for most of the day. The buffet breakfast was excellent (I didn't sample a cooked offering) but I was disappointed that twice my coffee cup was presented on a badly chipped saucer; a small detail but one that should not have escaped the eye of the barista or the waiter. The evening menu did not change and was limited. As a vegetarian my options were restricted and I thought pad Thai and Poke bowls were uninspiring and did not offer the Mediterranean flavours I had been anticipating. I did not eat dinner (buffet only) at the Grand Sagitario costing 30 euros. Two of the 4 local restaurants wouldn't take bookings from me as a solo diner and the menus of the other 2 were limited in their appeal. I usually enjoy a quiet location but found the area to be soul-less. I walked to Cala Blanca (25-30 minutes) which was mostly through residential areas, and along the rocky path to the port of Ciutadella which was more interesting but there are a lot of recently-built and new homes under construction on part of that route too. My early TUI flight meant a 12 noon arrival at the hotel but, unexpectedly, I was told that rooms are not available until 2pm. My luggage was stored securely, I was offered a room in which to change and the opportunity to use the hotel's facilities but I chose to explore the vicinity. If you are likely to arrive early, may I suggest you have suitable clothing at the top of your suitcase to save scrabbling around trying to locate shorts, tee shirt, suncream, etc as I did.

Greeted by very friendly receptionist. Welcoming drink of either local champagne or we had fresh pressed lemon water. Shown to lift then returned to Sagitario hotel. Given room 506 lift to 3rd floor. Card reader & door stays ajar on magnet. Bathroom left. Yes there is an indelicate issue with the toilet which is only screened off with opaque glass but no noise buffering when used. Decent shower dual head. Towels are provided on daily need request by leaving them on floor after use. A bathrobe & slippers are provided. A super King size very comfortable matress with two elongated pillows & a top sheet. The presentation is adorned with grey & pale blue cushions. Above an leaf ornemental design hangs this is in keeping with the natural theme concept value of the establishment. Table/dressing bring mirror if need be and small coffee table with 2 reading chairs. Kettle two portions of long life milk basic decaf café & tea bags provided. In fridge 1L agua chilled and useful to replenish with agua font vella 1.5L €1 at local Super2002 market store located 10 mins away for basics. Here foreign brands are expensive. Choice of nuts good quality less salt worth €2.66 rather than €5. Back in the hotel display the room now leading out to a large screened of terrace with baliniese bed for sun bathing. Note here that these rooms four in total are mostly reserved for spanish or french bookings like in Aranel Máhon 20 years ago. The plunge pool is still ok for under water swimming but not advised for surface use as it will disturbe the bathers sitting or reading a book in the water. Accross at Sagitarios hotel you can find a larger plunge pool mostly occupied by families which accommodates the surface swimmers. Both are open from 9am to 8pm. During the day there is the pool bar and eve the other inside but you can still enjoy the local entertainment singer/music which changes daily. Be advised that the bar tender will ask your drink order. Only in the hotel lounge area can you hear the display before deciding to either join inside or leave. The chain of three hotels source most ingrediants from their own sustainable farms located north of the island. The lunch menu in the Petit htl is fixed with no variety to offer. It's only mediteranean cuisine with own grown produce. The bar here open from midday to late inside or outside arranged tables & chairs. Accross the Grand Sagitario 1st floor 7:30 ~ 22.30 Buffet which is a tapas flavour of everything from entrées to mains of mostly meat sometimes fish Mini deserts french&spanish tasteful breads that you slice or the basic salad bar french&spanish tasteful breads that you slice off. Cheese but not menorquin and mini deserts. This equates to €30 the drink(s) are not included nor is agua a junior with little or no english asks for your room number and drink choice then you sign either pay as you go or added to the room bill. Agua €2.50 1/2L and sangria €5.00 x2 = €12.50 + service tip not included which you drop in box on counter. Smll gym two exercise bikes one running & one walking machine as well as weights. Spa treatments full body or leg from €40 to €100 2 very professional masseuses one for each hotel but don't speak english. Indoor bubble sauna pool and two chill out ambiance rooms with mat music and low light with candel & scent permeating. The staff are very polite helpful but speak spanish & some french with polite english apart from receptionists perfect command of english. The majority of hotel guests in both are spanish and french with a minority of British German Italian Dutch while we were there. Breakfast served both continental range and mediteranean cooked eggs do not arrive on plate but served in bowl you fetch the toast but it's not really bread that can be toasted. Nothing is offered as individual portions. Compote 3 choices you spoon on plate. Natural yoghourts 4 types including greek to be used with compote & seeds like chia and pumpkin nuts. Smll basic cereals and raw fish cheese jámon slices. Café con leche you only add sugar. Teas are the 'Lipton' norm to be 'avoid'. Fresh pressed oranja juice agua a must for the heat whether with café or any drink. The cleaners are very respectful even without any english as they learn of your habit to work around your absence or if a woman tolerance of your presence outside on terrace. They change bed wear every two days asked with card propped on bed or not. Floor mopped and bathroom small bin emptied. The hotel encourages a strong recycling policy having range bin types outside opposite lift which are emptied by cleaner daily. Rather than encouraging food consumption in rooms. 5mins away down the slopes are two meditarenean food restaurants? To the left adjoined to Santandria beach are two establishments. We tried restaurant Es Bruc need reservation to be seated or like us take away chips & 2 bocata de atun baguette filled with tinned tuna not forgetting 2 Gin Xoriguer & Fanta limon that's menorcan cocktails to be savoured on a low wall located a stones throw away. A police officer would not take 'no' for an answer to his demand to be seated even when told there's no availability and managed twice in the conversation to mention 'Policia ' coercing the poor woman to concede to his demande for a later that day large party attendance.
