Mimosa Hotel

Pros: Comfy beds Clean, quiet room Fantastic beach access Good location, lots of stores nearby for snacks, food, etc. Convenient parking right across street Cons: Musty smell in hallway Pool not heated and was unusable, too cold Drinks at bar were not good Small rooms and we had an “oversized” one No closet space Jacuzzi tub didn’t work Minimal bathroom counter space for toiletries

This tiny hotel is in between 2 hugh bldgs. Room is small and simple; the only window is blocked by a tall bldg so it can be dreary but I spent most time at the gorgeous pool and beach. The ocean view breakfast room is magnificent. Food was ok for $20 all you can eat continental breakfast. Kalypso lounge by pool is amazing. The front elevator was under repair-front desk clerk carried my luggage up the 4/5 steps. The humidity was very high and smells musty in the room so kept AC on full blast. Bed and pillows were very comfy, nice robes, towels. Floor felt like real concrete some soft slippers to match the robes would be a nice touch. Nice walking area to many restaurants etc. beautifying walking/bike trail between hotel and beach. Public bus runs on Collins Ave to get around. Coffee pot was not washed one day even though the pod was taken out. Asked for TV to be changed to English in morning came back at night and had to request again and it was done within 10 mins. I will definitely stay here again for a solo quiet relaxing trip.

This hotel is fabulous. It was the perfect location for us to enjoy the beach and the city. The rooms are comfortable, and so clean. the staff is amazing!!! We ate almost all our meals there. The breakfast buffet includes everything you could want and the restaurant downstairs has delicious food!! The breakfast is located upstairs overlooking the beach (one of our days was rainy, which brought the surfers out. It was so much fun watching them while enjoying our meal. The Kalypso Beach restaurant, downstairs, is beautifully Miami, overlooking the pool and beach. We enjoyed to bar too, which is right by everything!!!

This hotel needs renovation, and the front elevator is under repair. You have to carry your bags to the very back of the hotel and take that elevator up to your room. The access to the front lobby has stairs with no handicap access so you have to carry your bags to the front lobby and then carry them down to go to the back elevator. The hotel is old and has not been kept up. The pool area is fabulous but it is completely shaded so you cannot sun bathe at all without going onto the beach. The beach out front is beautiful but that's the extent of it.

We loved our short stay here. The staff was super helpful and gracious. This is a small nook hotel surrounded by much larger hotels which gives it the feel of being in the Caribbean. It’s an older building and has a bit of obvious touch ups, but the place was very clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was amazing. Not many amenities in the room other than tv, fridge and coffee maker. The pool area and upper patio restaurant are beautiful. The breakfast is a bit lackluster. I’d recommend some of the great local restaurants a mile or so away. Access to the beach is right through the back gate, and the beach is clean and attended by great staff. Great espresso and coffee bar.
