Mercure Petriolo Siena Terme Spa Hotel

Nice hotel, spacious conected rooms for family with kids, nice view, very friendly staff and service, very tasty Fiorentina stake, good value for money, spacious parking..easy to conect to the higway, would upgrade the brekfast area…..

Almost a year since we visited this place, but still remember. We will most definitely go back and stay longer. The surroundings are amazing on the top of the mountain. The hotel is surprisingly quiet even if it’s close to the highway. Watching the sun set from the thermionic spa is on of the best memories ever. Rooms are classic even if everything looks new. Lots of fine marble and granite works all over. There is nothing by countryside surrounding the property. Having a car is essential. In the surrounding villages you can find real local food, but everything is slow. The hotel restaurant is a good option with great food from a decent menu. The property is also used by Italians and breakfast is really good and authentic local. Staying for a few days makes wonders to anybody’s skin. The combination of Italian countryside, real spa, great food and classy hotel makes this a perfect hotel in Tuscany.

Reason for choosing this place was only because it was close to the following day’s commitment our son had for his football stage about 30km from here in the hills between Grosseto and Siena. Unfortunately we really do not think to be returning again. No quality for the price paid. This place seems to be coping only by the goodwill, kindness and efficiency of LUNA, the gentle head of the Wellness, I really thank for all her cooperation and understanding. We got lost upon arrival as the gps had no signal and wondered through the hills for at least 20-30 minutes. The Resort is accessible by car from the main road direction Siena just off the exit Pari you find it on your right. Otherwise you just go round in circles. Fortunately we were given superior rooms overlooking the hills and all have double glazing if not it would be like being right on the motorway instead of being literally below it! Reception/Reservations/Front office and catering do not comunicate amongst departments so no communication flow and coordination. We were given our second room for the boys at two different floors, after complaint we had to wait for room change to discover later on going to bed that our youngest was given a smaller “extra” bed instead of a proper single bed with proper complete bedding, not as the rest of the beds...! The Spa is ok, even though loud guests spoilt the relaxing mood. The lifeguard comes and goes, was never there really overlooking. At the restaurant we arrived and asked for our table, they were not even aware of our reservation nor of our name or that we were guests of the hotel. We took at table behind the staff access instead of being by the staircase! Most of the staff on duty had arrived that same day for the first time. Service is poor and menu was not satisfactory, very bad cinghiale in salmi con polenta tartufata (dried meat and dried out polenta brick that felt liked a nail buffer!). Cannot have four star prices for such bad quality. We even had to ask to put the Franciacorta bottle in the freezer to reach a reasonable cold temperature! Spacious rooms and pleasant marble bathrooms, even though minibar is not equipped, no glasses, no pen and paper. Water in shower is really not up to standard, water does not flow down basin and tub unless you completely remove tap. Buffet Breakfast was really average nothing special at all. Cleared rooms and had a last massage at 11.00, then checkout. Auspico la proprietà possa prendere in mano la situazione per far gestire il resort all’altezza di quello che potrebbe essere.

Ero già stato in questo stabilimento termale un paio di volte e avevo in entrambe le occasioni riscontrato disservizi vari soprattutto nella mancanza di personale addetto alle varie strutture e la poca professionalità dei medesimi. Il massimo l’ho sperimentato 3/4 giorni prima che lo stabilimento chiudesse per la stagione autunno/inverno 2024/2025. Ho chiamato per sapere se era possibile un ingresso giornaliero (la chiusura sul sito era specificato nel 01//10/2024) La risposta dell’addetto alla reception è stato un NO molto sbrigativo perché la Direzione aveva deciso così…senza un minimo di spiegazioni…. Vista la “qualità “della risposta ho chiesto ho chiesto se potevo parlare con la Direzione per avere qualche informazione in più…visto che sul sito non c’erano indicazioni in questo senso…per tutta risposta e nella solita maniera molto sbrigativa mi è costato risposto che in Direzione non c’era nessuno …a quel punto ho fatto notare in maniera del tutto tranquilla che il loro modo di gestire queste cose era piuttosto strano e poco comprensibile…per tutta risposta mi hanno riattaccato il telefono…

Struttura molto grande elegante e ben tenuta,centro benessere con piscine interne ed esterne,stanza bellissima,se devo trovare una pecca,il giorno che siamo arrivati a pranzo ho ordinato un insalata ed è arrivata con altri ingredienti,il tagliere di salumi in realtà era un tagliere di salame,però indubbiamente è stato un weekend fantastico
